HOPE worldwide volunteer Sharon Anderson is taking her holiday spirit to the homeless.
Sharon created the Homeless Partners Wish List Program in Las Vegas. Through this program, homeless men and women make Christmas Wish Lists of whatever essentials they need and then people can make donations online to make those wishes come true.
For people like Army veteran Kenneth Fieldes, this program is an opportunity to meet basic needs in their lives. Fieldes is asking for a medical alert bracelet to help monitor a heart problem. This could be Fieldes' only chance to get an alert bracelet that could save his life.
102 people have filled out wish lists. “This is important because Nevada has one of the largest homeless populations,” Anderson said. “I have a roof over my head, but that could be me. Everyone is one paycheck away from being homeless.”
